London
With a beautifully framed lawn and pleached-tree boundary, this garden works as a magical link between the main house and the mews accommodation and provides a luxurious, urban retreat.
RSL’s vision was to create soft green spaces, keeping them as open as possible while implementing privacy. The front garden was planted with Buxus spheres and Quercus ilex, acting as welcoming sentinels to the entrance, and providing the architectural feature that RSL felt the garden cried out for to complement the house.
On the rear lower terrace, the retractable glass wall of the house opens out onto an outdoor drawing-room, complete with fireplace surrounded by lush, living walls. The result is a tranquil, graceful, spacious oasis.
