RSL was commissioned to re-landscape a six-acre garden, ringed by pine woods with views to Wentworth Golf Course, at a substantial Surrey property.
The drive was replanted and an existing water feature renovated with a natural cascade. In the rear garden, David Harber was commissioned to design a single Teardrop for a second existing ill-construed water feature. With its gleaming stainless steel wickerwork, the Teardrop appears to hover and shimmer above the water, providing a dramatic visual focus.
Semi-circular steps now lead from the Teardrop to newly created twin parterres, while on the opposite side of the lawn RSL created a sensational, all-year-round, family entertainment hub, complete with a fabulously equipped Gaze Burvill kitchen and wide-screen television.
The woodland was made magical with a tapestry of meandering paths and an elegant Palladian temple and fantasy tree house with shingled roofing, both adding to a sense of mystery and discovery.
Meanwhile, the back terrace, which has commanding views, was transformed into an elegant seating area by laying grey York stone inset with polished black granite in a flowing oriental design.
