With 23 years of experience in the landscaping industry, Stephen brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team, making him an invaluable asset in our pursuit of excellence in every project we undertake.
Stephen Threlfall is the man behind the numbers, responsible for calculating costs and resources to tender for potential projects. With a natural affinity for the role and a passion for building high-end residential landscapes, Stephen found himself drawn to the world of estimating. Over the years, he has played a crucial role in numerous landscaping projects, becoming an indispensable force in our team.
During his illustrious career, Stephen has worked on several notable projects that have left a lasting impact on both clients and industry peers. Among these projects, Stephen led the build for Chelsea Flower Show in 2018, where his expertise and meticulous attention to detail shone through.
Stephen’s deep understanding of what it takes to transform a design pack into a beautiful landscape sets him apart in his role as a senior estimator. Having built high-end residential landscapes for most of his career, he can accurately quantify complex designs based on his vast project experience. This expertise ensures our cost estimation is on point and helps maintain budget control for our landscaping projects.
Utilising his wealth of knowledge, Stephen employs various software tools, including Excel and Bluebeam, to enhance his work efficiency, making the estimating process streamlined and accurate.
At RSL, collaboration is at the heart of our success. Stephen and our commercial teamwork hand in hand with other departments within the company. They collaborate closely with Ben, our Construction Manager and his team to ensure a smooth handover of successful tenders from pre-construction to the operations phase of the project.
Furthermore, Stephen’s role extends beyond the estimating process. He works alongside architects, engineers, and contractors to determine the scope of works for our projects and to bridge any gaps within the package. His expertise in quantifying projects plays a pivotal role in maintaining clear communication between all parties involved.
Aside from his expertise in landscaping estimating, Stephen brings a delightful sense of humour and camaraderie to the team. He is constantly starting building projects in his own garden and hopes one day they will be finished!
